Description: We are happy to announce that ABC Kids Preschool & Child Care has now opened. ABC Kids serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Our preschool program will run from 8am to 12pm and will offer 2, 3 and 5 days options. Starting this summer ABC Kids will offer a fun summer program that will keep preschoolers and school age children learning as they play and have fun.
Before I tell you why I 100% recommend this above all other facilities in Fillmore, let me tell you that I am that pain in the butt parent that comes in with guns blazing to any situation involving my cubs. I have a Master's degree in education, and am ridiculously critical of any and all educational settings, teachers and methods. I am critical, and probably a bit too judgemental. I am that parent that staff avoid.
That being said, and having had children attend Sunshine, San Cayetano and the Christian Academy, I can honestly say that staff at ABC are the best in town. ABC has mandatory professional development and maintains the highest qualifications of any preschool I have encountered. The appeal of Sonshine is that it is private, teaches moral value and the adoring and caring teachers. Minus the religious affiliation, ABC meets and exceeds all of these goals.
ABC staff care and cater to each individual learner. Their approach to learning allows students to choose their learning center, so they can develop their own passions and decide which areas to pursue. Other facilities incorporate a one size fits all model, with all students doing the same activities all the time, regardless of indibidual interest. This approach sours students to school at a young age. My older son experienced this, and fought nearly daily to avoid going to preschool. ABC also has the BEST facility. My son never wants to leave the playground. The facility is always clean. Most notably-in 2 years my son has NEVER not wanted to go. Instead he never wants to leave. ABC also allows infants and provides after school care and all meals, which no other Fillmore facility can match. They recently took all preschool students on a field trip to a large museum. Staff were impressive with their control over some very excited toddlers in such a large setting.
Today is my son's last day attending ABC, because we are leaving the area. I hope we find another preschool even close to what we had at ABC. I cannot recommend this preschool enough. We will miss the experiences, teachers and setting and hope that many more families can share in the magic that is ABC as a result of reading this.
