Karie’s Kiddo’s/Trupka’s Daycare: It’s a “New Daycare” that will open the last week of August 2023. The daycare is located four miles from Phelps Mill, on Highway 35, in Ottertail County, MN. I’m originally from Breckenridge, MN where my husband, Jerry Trupka and I raised our three children. Our family was blessed with many children, in our home daycare, from 1985-1995. My favorite memory as a preschool teacher at St. John’s Preschool Wahpeton, ND was Kindergarten graduation! Being able to work with children is what I love most in life! Teaching 33 years, at the Circle of Nations School (CNS), in Wahpeton, ND was when I earned my Master’s degree in education. I believe the best program I directed was the after school program at CNS. Religious educational activities involved a large part of my life, including: being a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and a member of the Education Board. Specializing in infant and toddler care will be my focus as a new daycare provider. Please message me if you are interested in more information or a personalized orientation session. Current MN family daycare licensing requires: background checks, fingerprinting, and the following training prior to initial licensing: Pediatric First Aid/CPR (my first training was a freshmen in highschool), SUID/AHT, Developmentally Appropriate Behavior Guidance (I personally used Love and Logic), and Supervising for Safety (Jerry says: “Safety First”). I will also be trained in C.A.R.S to transport children. Safety is seen in documenting monthly fire and storm drills, and crib safety inspections. Rest assured, my daycare children will be well fed on the food program. Coming shortly you will be able to find more information and answers to questions on or email at . You can also call or message me at 218-643-3132 (cell phone). As a “specialized family daycare” license holder of Otter Tail County, I will be able to care for up to three infants age: 6 weeks-12 months or up to four toddlers: 12 months to 30 months or up to four preschoolers age: 30 months to 5 years. This will include various combinations as long as the total capacity is not more than four children in these age groups. In addition two school aged: (5-11 years) children bringing my total capacity to 6 children at any given point in time. I’ve been scouring Pinterset for ideas to create a safe and engaging outdoor play space. Since my Master’s degree is in Curriculum and Instruction, I plan to create a conservative, developmentally appropriate curriculum for my kiddo’s. Please know I’m stoked to start caring for your grand/child/ren and feel especially blessed to care for your grand/child/ren. Call/text/message/email to check on availability. Karie Trupka
