LEAD TEACHER (Full-Time)
Supervisor: Site Director of Four Seasons Child Care
Qualifications: Four Seasons Child Care Center is currently seeking an Early Childhood Lead Teacher for our Hudson location. This person must be the model that demonstrates the kinds of values, attitudes, expectations, beliefs, and choices that makes FSCC exceptional. An Early Childhood Teacher must have a passion for children and a strong desire to make a difference in their daily lives, the ability to work well in a team environment, and the willingness to establish trusting and lasting relationships with our current and future families.Major Areas of Responsibility:
All teachers at Four Seasons Child Care are instructional leaders and professional educators.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited:
Supervise and train Assistant Teachers
Adapting classroom goals and curriculum to our Center's mission and philosophy
Assessing the needs of all children and adapting instruction to meet the needs
Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning
Encouraging every child's participation
Evaluating each child's performance and development changes
Maintaining continuing education requirements
Maintaining open, supportive, constructive, and positive communication with all staff, children, and parents
Displaying a professional and team -orientated attitude at all times
Participating in all aspects related to special events, such as open houses, conferences, programs, meetings, trainings, etc.
Maintain classrooms to ensure cleanliness, safety, and a sense of order
Responsible for completing monthly newsletters
Maintaining and updating children's classroom paperwork
Submit weekly lesson plans
• Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
• Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attend staff meetings, and serve on committees as required.
• Attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers.
• Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Organize and label materials, and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills.
• Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
• Read books to entire classes or to small groups.
• Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
This position requires employee to obtain a certification from the Wisconsin Registry of Early Childhood Professional Recognition System. Early Childhood Education or related courses required. Current certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, SIDS, and Shaken Baby Syndrome are required upon hire.
