Former Parent Dec 30, 2016
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

On December 27th I walked into my kids daycare facility to pick my children up. Which is called BELLS FERRY LEARNING CENTER ON CANTON RD!!!! When I went to get my daughter from the infant room, I saw the teacher (Stephanie) sleeping in the rocking chair while my child, and another were sitting in the bouncy seats in front of her and 2 others were crawling on the other side of the room. I looked at Stephanie and said "are you sleeping?" She jumped up and said "omg I am so sorry, I dozed off bouncing the babies." I then asked where my son was and she stayed he was in the 3 year old room,( he is 5 1/2) they were short handed so they had to combine classrooms. She then goes on to say you know Ms. Lou fell last week (my daughters primary teacher in the infant room) and I said no I didn't, is she ok?! She said "you didn't know she fell while holding Remeigh?"
*rewind* - SHE FELL WHILE HOLDING MY 5 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER AND NOBODY TOLD ME?!?!?!?!?!! ???? I went to notify the girl at the front desk Daquana that the teacher in the infant room was sleeping and ask her about the fact that Lou had fallen with my daughter in her arms and no one told me. Daquana stated Josh - the "asst. director" was supposed to call us and notify us of the incident which he clearly never did.
Not to mention- we had noticed Remeighs bottle nipples were coming out so fast she was choking and when we looked- we saw someone was slicing the nipple to make the opening bigger. It wasn't us, so we brought it to the attention of the facility and her teacher admitted to cutting the nipples which caused her to aspirate and retain fluids in her lungs which is part of the reason why we have been battling the bronchiolitis and rsv for the last almost 4 weeks.
We immediately brought all of these issues to the owners attention on Wednesday. We were told we were presenting her with information she was unaware of and would need to call back tomorrow. HOW ARE YOU THE "owner" of a daycare and have no idea your teachers are falling, sleeping, and cutting bottle nipples. We let her do her "investigation." Only for her to call us back with this-
Stephanie insists she wasn't sleeping, she only had her eyes closed with her head leaned back *pause* ok- let's run with that weak excuse for a minute- EVEN IF SHE HAD HER HEAD LEANED BACK WITH HER EYES CLOSED, WHY THE F IS SHE CLOSING HER EYES WITH HER "HEAD LEANED BACK" while caring for infants??!! Exactly ...... "well it's your word against hers" ok, so we're lying?!
Then she states that yes the teacher was in fact holding Remeigh when she fell but she cradled her so she wouldn't get hurt that's why no one called you! I DO NOT GIVE A FLYING F IF MY CHILD WAS HURT OR NOT - if one of your employees falls while holding my 5 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER - I BETTER BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY!!!!! then goes on to say well no one knew she was holding her! YOU KNEW AND SO DID YOUR EMPLOYEES BC IF " no one knew" 2 different people would not have been able to inform me of the damn incident. Sounds like a whole bunch of shadiness and a** covering to me!!! How bout you?!
The owner got so frustrated with me calling her on her s*** she then says " ok you know what I'm done with this, Remeigh is dismissed From our care immediately" ummmm DUHHHH!!!! Idk wth you call "care" but sleeping on the job, neglecting children, and child endangerment is not C A R E.
Sharon the "owner" had absolutely no compassion or remorse for her employees actions. Instead of immediately terminating her employees for their negligence she instead insinuated we were liars. DO NOT EVER ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN AT THIS FACILITY- and make sure you inform your friends as well. This place is a joke and so is it's owner.
