Apple Montessori Schools have been dedicated to early childhood education for over 40 years. Our research-proven infant, toddler, preschool and kindergarten programs focus on nurturing the whole child - intellectually, emotionally, socially and beyond (ages 6 weeks - 6 years). We have 15 schools in Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Edison, Hoboken, Kinnelon, Oakland, Mahwah, Metuchen, Morris Plains, Randolph, Towaco, and Wayne, NJ. For infants and toddlers, attentive, encouraging care and individualized lessons help your child reach developmental milestones and fosters independence. Enrichment includes yoga, sign language, art, music and food tasting. For preschoolers, our core curriculum includes reading, math, science, technology, history, geography, language arts and foreign language in addition to enrichment programs in art, music, character development and ethics. A child learns most easily and quickly from birth to six years of age than any other time of life, and we make this most of this critical time by inspiring a love of learning. All within a safe, supportive and joyful environment filled with nurturing educators and a caring support team. There are several things that make Montessori different from traditional schools. First, because each child is unique, our teaching style allows children, even at a very young age, to follow their own passions at their own pace. Children may go as quickly or as slowly as they need to without being pushed to move ahead before they are ready. This is how they develop strong confidence and self-esteem. Hands-on materials and games specially designed for young children bring abstract principles to life and help build logical and critical thinking skills. Our proven reading program yields great success with four and five year old students. Apple Montessori is unique compared to other Montessori schools because we offer a vast variety of enrichment programs to support our whole child approach. Learning skills are enhanced with Fastracks, a technology-based enrichment program that incorporates real world exercises to reinforce lessons. Art and music enrichment helps children develop an appreciation for the arts as they explore their creative side. Apple Montessori's character development program cultivates ethically responsible behavior as caring individuals. Parenting seminars on a variety of topics are sponsored throughout the year and daily e-communications and live video monitoring helps parents feel informed and involved. Each location has half day sessions in the morning or afternoon as well as a full day session. Before and after school programs with extra-curricular activities are also available. During the months of July and August, they have a summer camp program serving students ages 2 through 12. Most locations have a swimming pool designed for daily swimming lessons. Campers participate in activities such as Arts & Crafts; Nature & Science; Cooking; Music; Dance; Computers; and Organized Sports. The older campers also participate in weekly field trips.
