About the Provider

Description: We welcome you to Maxine O. Bush Elementary. Our school serves students in Head Start and grades K-8 in the South Mountain Community. Our school was named in honor of Maxine O. Bush, a teacher in the Roosevelt School District who passed away on December 31, 1985. Maxine Bush had a life-long romance with education and people. She was a graduate of Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. In 1975 Arizona State University awarded her Master of Arts Degree. A versatile educator, Maxine O. Bush spent her first years as a teacher in her native Texas. She moved to Arizona in 1966, and joined the teaching staff of the Roosevelt Elementary School District, serving the district in a variety of roles. Since our dedication ceremony on December of 1987, we have continually strived to meet the needs of our community. Our students, parents, faculty and administration are second to none.
