Description: Townsend Elementary School provides education and opportunity to grow for approximately 600 students in grades K-5. The building principal is Aaron Bush and the assistant principal is Shelley Mannor. There are 26 classroom teachers, a vocal music teacher, physical education teacher, art teacher, 3 special education teachers, and 2 reading recovery teachers. Townsend also provides a Young 5's Kindergarten classroom, Pre school classroom, and before/after school childcare.
In addition, the following professional staff support our students' needs: a school social worker, school psychologist, speech and language therapist, special education social worker, school nurse, 11 classroom assistants, a library assistant, a computer lab assistant, an occupational and physical therapist, and 3 special education aides. Assisting all of us with the many aspects of our school life are: 2 secretaries, 1 safety crossing guard, 7 kitchen workers, 4 playground supervisors, and 4 custodians.
