A Culture of Violence
One morning, my 5-year-old daughter woke up, walked into my home office, and started sobbing, begging me to never take her to Skidaddles again. I can't speak for everyone, but some of their employees (Olivia, for instance) have anger and violence issues. My wife and I observed her forcibly dragging and carrying my screaming child out of a classroom several times when it was time to go. We never mentioned or indicated that we were in any sort of rush.
After attending Skidaddles one day, our little one came home saying "shut your mouth," a phrase we've 100% never used before. When we asked Chelsea, the manager, where our daughter might have heard that, Chelsea admitted that they do say something similar from time to time when someone talks out of turn. Skidaddles is a business through and through. All they care about is clocking your child in and out. Engagement is low. Keeping children out of the employees' hair is the priority. Televisions constantly play, and oftentimes they display cartoons that frighten younger children who do not watch such things at home, like my daughter. I actually ran into a mother at Makino Park who specifically removed her son from Skidaddles for this reason.
After my daughter pleaded with me about never going back, I obliged and felt terrible for not acting sooner. I explained the situation to the managers at the Mason branch and requested a refund for the remaining month or so. They told me to contact the president, Tiffany Lewis. On April 6, I emailed Tiffany and explained that this is an exceptional situation and I would like a refund. On April 8, Tiffany said she would look into it by speaking with the Mason people. She never replied, even though I sent three reminders. I called the Florence branch every week and was told she is "in a meeting but would get back to me." Finally, the person at the front desk, Morgan, told me that Tiffany would send me a response in the mail. It is now the end of July. I have called over 20 times. Still no response. They got their money, and that's all they ever cared about.
