I have used this provider for more than 6 months

We have taken our children to shanell for 3 years. We absolutely love her, and our children adore her. She is very structured, and kind and we highly recommend her! The kids get to do alot if fun activities and also go on field trips! Her space is ALWAYS clean and welcoming! The reviews below have never been issues for us, and sound like just an angry terminated parent to me.

Extremely poor experience Oct 14, 2017
I have used this provider for less than 6 months

The provider seems to be a nice person at first glance, but a deeper relationship proved otherwise for us. My kids hated going. I do not feel that she has their best interest at heart. I felt that my kids were an inconvenience often. The kids rarely did activities aside from playing outside and free play in the basement.

I feel this business has poor professionalism of how any business should be ran. Most of her communication is done through text message- which can be unclear- and while I am at work. This is also added to a written contract. She is defensive upon asking questions.

Also, she billed me and terminated me through a text. This is not very professional. This same day she terminated us, she closed the next day claiming her son had a fever. He was still allowed to play with and near my kids.
The next day when I showed up to pick my daughters things up, she put them outside and claimed she wouldn't be home. Keep in mind, she claimed her son had a fever and was staying home.

In only 40 days of care we have had to take off work 6 days either the whole day, leave early or transport. Maybe this is just abnormal, maybe it's a regular thing. I don't know. She claimed that she would not transport when her son's school wasn't in school. My kids do not attend his school. This was not an issue with the amount of room either. This was not in her contract.

She seems to value the training and safety of an animal over my 6 year old daughters safety and teaching. This just isn't acceptable to me. Her dog (hyperactive terrier) jumped on my daughter and the child kicked it off. I told her to please keep her dog off of them because I do not believe the dogs happiness/safety overrides a child. And I wouldn't support the dog all over them. I was accused of animal cruelty.

My daughter claimed she was being teased at daycare, I asked about it. The provider swore up and down that my daughter was lying. I do have a overly sensitive child, so what happened her I have no idea. But she sure didn't want to talk about it. She had already warned me that the kids at her care, to include her son, could be sort of mean.

I met my daughter at her school one day when she was being dropped off. She had an accident in the van and the provider never noticed. I didn't blame anyone and just changed her and went on.Accidents happen. I later discover she blamed me for accusing her of making my daughter sit in her pee.

After I pay for the following week, she cashes my check and terminates us. Then proceeds to slander my family all over Facebook provider page, behind my back. I happen to have provider friends. The facts in there were either half truths- animal cruelty, or open lies.

So, if you're up for lack of communication, being publicly criticized, and your kids being miserable. This is the place to go.

If not, stay far away.
