My name is Susan Harris. I am the owner and operator for Shining Stars Academy. I am a proud Army veteran, eager to continue to serve my community, but now as a child care provider. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Development and a Master's of Business Administration. For many years I worked for Federal agencies. While working at these agencies, I learned a lot about the need of excellent childcare, regulations, etc. I later decided that I wanted to pursue a career as a child care provider and that is what I did. I also have experience as a home educator, since I homeschool my daughter. I know the importance of following federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the safety of the children. I also know that as a working parent, looking for someone you trust to leave your child is something very difficult to do. I've been there, so I can offer you and reassure you that my experience as a mother and as a daycare provider will at all times strive to ensure the safety of your child! I am proud and happily married to my American Hero and US. Army soldier; we have our little princess, who we homeschool. As a parent myself and child care provider, I can offer you a peace of mind while you leave your child in my care. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding your childcare needs.
