Additional Information:

Our distinctive services have been developed to meet specific connection, communication, security, nutrition, and convenience desires of our families while also positioning Little Sunshine’s as an Early Care innovator!

Our master planned and Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum, Creatively Shine™, supports the fact that children are full of curiosity and creativity, ready to explore the world with a sense of wonder and awe. Children have the right to an environment and teachers that will foster and cultivate a lifelong passion for learning and exploration. This philosophy sees the child as a competent and active participant in their own learning.

The success of our curriculum and our program as a whole can also be attributed to parent participation being highly encouraged. Our curriculum and monthly planning fosters strong parent/teacher relationships through verbal communication, LuvNotes™ (electronic daily messaging), posted classroom schedules and lesson plans, newsletters, conferences, events and programs. Parents can even use our Kiddie Cams™ to continue their involvement by watching an activity or event at its planned time when they cannot be there in person.

All efforts with curriculum are focused at ensuring that each of our students leaves our program with all the necessary skills to flourish in Kindergarten and beyond.

Little Sunshine's Playhouse has been a blessing to our family by far the best place to have your child! My daughter Olivia has been enrolled at LSP since December of 2013, since coming to Lsp I could not imagine her being anywhere else! The love that the ladies working at LSP have for children shines everyday! Knowing your child is safe when you are not around can be a hard one...not at LSP! Little Sunshine's offers a number of ways for you to get updates on your baby or just to help ease a worried mom throughout the day to ensure you and reassure you that your sweet baby is being taken care of! LSP offers activities for children of all ages from infants on up! You never have to worry if your child is being sat in a bouncer and left there all day. The curriculum at LSP is outstanding. If you are looking for a place for your child to grow as their own individual I highly recommend Little Sunshine's. The love for teaching and children shows everyday! Big bonus the school doesn't smell like a daycare covering up germs with Lysol, but more like a cozy safe place you would want to sit down and read a book at. If you are looking for a safe and wonderful environment for your child LSP is the place to be, they are leaders in the industry and it shows.

We have gone to this school for over two years and have had good and bad experiences. When many of our friends left, we stayed. Staying was a poor decision. Please do not make the same decision we made.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this daycare.

The Good:
1. The facility is nice and clean.
2. The location is convenient.
3. Cameras show the each classroom.

The Bad:
1. They care little about your child’s safety.
Our child has specific food allergies with some being severe. At least 4 times, my child has been given a food in which he/she was allergic. These all have been preceded by a phone call explaining what happened and a discussion on how serious this is. Each conversation has ended with the director blaming the teachers in the room. I think this is bigger than just the teachers and the cook. The process is broken! “I will fix it; it won’t happen again,” says the director. This has not been fixed. All suggestions on a new process were dismissed. Even multiple calls to corporate were dismissed.
I don’t know how you feel, but death is a serious subject matter which should not be taken lightly.
2. The turnover of teachers is extremely high. I can count at least 10 in 2 years for my child's classrooms alone.
I’m not sure why this is, but I will speculate (I have talked to many present and former teachers) that this due to low teacher-student ratios, little to no training or low pay.
3. They operate at the lowest teacher-student ratio possible (state minimums).
At times, I have seen classrooms where there are not enough teachers (state ratios not being met) and/or children sleeping in the hallway because classrooms are too full.
4. The director is not trustworthy!
The current director will say anything to you to address your problems. However, she will not follow through or correct action. We have made suggestions on many accounts which would better the facility and encourage better processes for all children. None were implemented.
5. The director does not improve or implement new ideas or processes from parent’s suggestions.
6. Corporate only cares about their bottom line.
Incentives are in place to maximize student retention and fill the facility to the maximum. This was told to us by an employee.
7. The price is the highest in the area. Sometimes paying more does not given you more.
8. We were given 13 business days to leave.
Finally, in the last couple of months, we expressed concern multiple times about the detail of safety and attention, or lack of safety and attention, provided to our child. At first, the center and corporate seems concerned about what was happening. However, as the conversation furthered, the tone escalated to a point in which we were told to leave in the next 13 working days. This only happened when we stated that we planned on leaving as soon as we found a new facility in which there was an opening. Remember, we were loyal for over two years and was told to leave when we thought our child wasn’t getting the proper, attentive care which should have been provided.
