About the Provider

Description: Empowering Youth and Families Outreach (EYFO) was founded in 2001 by John and Charlett Shoecraft. They have over 18 years of experience running community based programs for youth and their families. After seeing how many youth fall victim to the lure of the streets, we wanted to create a place for youth to come and recognize their potential, build confidence, and use their intellect to better the community.

EYFO was birthed as we recognized that today’s youth face tough challenges that can sometimes lead to making difficult choices. As a result, the consequences are often tragic and can have long lasting effects. EYFO’s vision for the youth we serve is to create a positive model for kids to pattern themselves after, and to train and equip our youth to have strong values and principles as the foundation for their lives, as a way of preparing our youth with the necessary tools to confront and overcome challenges that inevitable in life. Our program is multi-faceted, serving the youth, but also giving the youth the opportunity to serve and be leaders,
