Activities: Age appropriate activities will be scheduled with flexibility allowed to respond to the needs of the individual child and day. Your child will be offered time for outside play, crafts, stories, instruction, and naps appropriate to the child's ages, interests, and abilities. A preschool curriculum, developing gross and fine motor skills will be offered. We do many arts and crafts where the focus is on the process, not the product. Free play is an important part of a child's early years. It is here that they learn social skills that will be needed the rest of their lives. Child Care Philosophy: As family childcare providers, our goal is to provide a safe and happy place for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. We believe children learn trhough play and benefit from a stuctured yet flexible schedule. Activities will be offered which stimulate sensory motor development, language development, and social interaction. The development of strong self-esteem is also a major goal. Children will be taught to respect each other and adults as well as property. Both caregivers have an Associate's of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and experience working with children. There is also a dog and cat on the premise. The children may be exposed to the pets on occasion, but for the most part will be separated.
