I looked up this place as a possibility for my boys then after today seeing a group at the park with 3 "supervisors" I will not even consider them. The 3 women stood off to the side and did not even watch to make sure the kids were behaving or playing safe. Not to mention one was drinking out of a milk jug with a straw and I saw no water for the children. I had to leave because the kids were running over my kids and knocking them out of the way again nothing from the women that were supposed to be watching them. What kind of place are they running and I would like to know there hiring process of getting these negligent people.
No programs, no activities, no structure, no respect no professionalism. It's a wonder why none of these exist when under the "direction" of director Dawn". She is rude, cold, combative, confrontational, cannot take constructive criticism does not care. Poor security anyone can walk out of the building with any child and not a word to be had. Poor construction of building, dirty carpets, walls, classrooms. Faces not washed after meals for babies, babies roll around on dirty filthy rug and floors, toys not washed or sanitized, changing table area has dirt and debris, teachers seem angry and stressed out always and inappropriate comments are made towards children when child is fussy. Cannot believe this place is still open and operating. The food served there is poor nutritional value, poor quality, not a surprise when you have an obviously uneducated mean and crude so called director named "Dawn". Where are the owners??? Another problem, not present. Do not recommend on any level. My child would be in better hands being watched by my 14 year old chihuahua
The facility is not clean, nor is there much structure. The walls are dirty; the carpets snagged and dirty. The floor in my grandson's main classroom was always dirty. The kids' coats and hats were never hung up, they are routinely all over the floor. Very often I had to visit two,a nd sometimes three rooms to find articles of clothing, or his sleep blanket. Additionally, I found no educational value in the four months my grandson attended.
Had some bad experiences here. There are a few great teachers, some not so great - but the director lacks quality. My three year old mixed race grandson had his first racial experience here, courtesy of "Miss Erynn". He told me she said "dirty blacks should stay with dirty blacks". Voiced my concerns about the racial remarks to the director. Miss Dawn defended her staff. She said he was making it all up, that it never happened. Totally blew it off as a complete fabrication. I know the only place that would have come from is BrightStart.
Most recent bad experience. My grandson tripped and fell on the playground, skinned his hands and knees. Brightstart staff incompletely filled out an incident report. They said he tripped on the playground, but they did not say why. My grandson said his new teacher, Miss Megan, got mad at him and was said "I am NOT tying your shoes again!'
Be careful and keep watch. Most of the staff is caring, but others have no business working with children. Additonally, funds need to be spent on capital improvements. It could be a nice place, and would benefit from good management.
