Description: The Youth Commission (YC) is a private, nonprofit corporation serving the Fargo-Moorhead area since 1972 and operating after school childcare programs since 1986. We provide safe, convenient and affordable care for children ages 5 to 12; an important need throughout the elementary years. We know that flexible childcare can be hard to find and transportation even more difficult to arrange. That’s why the YC, in cooperation with the local school districts, offers the convenience of a childcare program at or near your child’s school.

Yesterday myself, my daughter and her two children, were at Washington School playground to enjoy the new equipment installed a few weeks ago. Around three pm the FYC children came out to play on new equipment too. I am writing this in hopes you will look into this matter concerning the leadership or lack of leadership I witnessed. There is a four seated blue merry go round type of playground equipment and your leaders quickly sat on it not allowing the children on it plus I witnessed cell phone usage. Basically ignoring the children. A child asked for help on swing and what I assume was one of leaders told him to get a friend to do it. They should have also been instructing the children to share the zip line and when I asked them to get the children to share, I was ignored. These were little children who just completed kindergarten, I know this because my granddaughter went to school with several and just completed kindergarten. I really think you should look into this because leadership needs to be improved.
