Description: Union Elementary STEM and Demonstration School is an exciting place for children. Learning comes alive here as the entire staff lives out our mission of supporting children in all areas. The staff includes specialists in art, music, physical education, guidance, media and special needs. They are supported by instructional assistants, child care, custodial, office, and school nutrition staff. Union is an alternative calendar school for grades K – 5. We have four 9 week periods with a 2 week break between each nine week period. Our school year begins at the end of July and finishes at the end of May. Union Elementary is a STEM School (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). We will enrich our students in science and mathematics and utilize all available technology recources in the classroom to bring learning alive. Our campus provides a great place to learn about nature, as well as, being spacious enough to run and play, further enhancing the learning experience here. We have a garden and greenhouse the students work in and learn from. We also have a nature trail. Parents are a fundamental part of the daily life at Union Elementary. Their presence contributes remarkable assistance in the media center and classrooms throughout the year, along with opportunities to serve on the PTO. Parent input is encouraged and welcomed at all times at Union Elementary STEM and Demonstration School.
