The Learning Experience is a premiere Child Care Learning Center for children ages six weeks to six years with dynamic and fun programming. We are open year round from 6:30am to 6:30 pm. While observing in Space 5 today, a teacher was observed changing a child's diaper and did not follow the required diapering procedures outlined in Sanitation Requirement 15A NCAC 18A .2819(d)(1)gathering supplies before placing the child on the diapering surface. The child soiled his clothing and the teacher had not gathered clean clothing prior to changing the child's diaper, the assistant teacher had to assist by retrieving the clothing and giving it to the lead teacher to complete the diaper change today. | |||

If you have a infant you might want to think twice. While everyone at the center will greet you with open arms and make you feel like the most important client this is just an act. My son went to this child care provider for about a month/little over a month. I am a first time mother and very protective over my baby boy. The first two days his feeding schedule was not followed. He received 16 ounces of milk within 2 hours. When I complained the director was very involved but also tried to shift the blame stating that; that is the reason that she suggest bringing as extra bottle. She did not understand that an extra bottle would not have been a resolution. The last thing he needed wasMORE milk. She also suggested him drinking half the bottle at one time and the other hours later which is a state violation but most importantly infants have to drink the milk within an hour after the bottle has started. It was pretty scary that the director didn't know this. Hey things happen I let this slide but voiced my concern. A few small things took place that didn't bother me too much, such as food in his hair when I pick him up at 5:30 when his last feeding was at 1:45, food in his nose, food and milk all over his shirt. The teachers were very nice seemed to care so I would just call this out during conversation. On a fri I pick up my son and he was wet, while the teacher is changing his clothes I notice the inside of his lip is busted. When I asked she stated that another teacher was in the room and he fell in the kitchen area. Nothing was written up and I wasn't called. This pissed me off. I go to speak with the director whom called the teacher up that was in the infant room with my son and she quickly wrote an incident report up. I asked to speak with her and she said that my son stood up on the high chair turned and fell. She saw all of this but didn't know if he fell and hit his head. She stated that she didn't see blood so she didn't call me nor document the incident. The director stated that she didn't want to take away from me being so up set but at this age they fall all of the time. Once again I had to defend myself and why this is not ok. Accidents happen but communication is huge. My son is only 9months for Pete's sake. He can't tell me that he fell on a tile floor. I forgave this. Well my sons clothes were changed this day and honestly I completely forgot that she changed his clothes after seeing my babies lip. The next tues I pick up my son to find him in his crib, under a window with only a diaper on!!!! The teacher handed him to me in a receiving blanket that can't even fit around him. It was 30 degrees outside and this is how I am supposed to take my child outside. He was without any clothes on since 4 from what I was told. No one called me about bringing him clothes, they have a washer/dryer on site but they left my baby without any clothes on. I am very involved with my child, I call every day and visit during the day as offer as I can. Everyone there knows I work and live 5 minutes away I would have been there in a blink of an eye. The teacher was very apologetic but the owner Donna whom was at the front desk was very cold and rude. I was so angry I was shaking. At this point at myself and them. Myself for giving them passes and not taking signs when seeing others babies with crusted snot over the lip, babies under the crib stuck crying and hitting their head, babies having food stuffed in there mouth fast BC they are trying to rush and so on. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt but it was all at the cost of my baby. To this day the director has not called to apologize (the teacher told her to call me about the clothes when it happen), the director saw me the following day did not address me at all, Joy the assistant director and the teachers are the only ones that acted as if they gave two cents about my baby. I will spend my $1000 somewhere that has customer service and cares about the infants. Don't let their welcoming attitude fool you. At the end of the day it's all about the Benjamin's.
