Worst daycare! I had a completely horrible experience with Shining Star. I had enrolled my children in this daycare because it was the only daycare with availability and I was starting my job 06/14/2021, this should have been my first red flag considering no other daycare in the area had any availability and had long waitlist, but they had just opened so I figured that had a lot to do with availability and I did a tour and was pretty excited about my children starting daycare. I had a 2 year old and my daughter was exactly 2 months old at the start date of attending. This daycare constantly called me to come pick up my kids, were constantly complaining about my daughter being fussy/spitting up, claiming they had a fever but when I would get home and check their temperature most of the time they wouldn’t have a fever (sometimes they did) they were very disrespectful in the way they would talk to me, and I felt like they just didn’t want my children there. I really felt singled out and I started worrying for my children's safety while being there. When my daughter contracted RSV I immediately let the daycare know so they could inform other parents, and I was informed by her pediatrician that when she was fever free without a fever reducer she would be welcome to go back to daycare. I was informed by the daycare that neither her or my son could return until they were completely symptom free (including a runny nose) my children had constantly had a runny nose before contracting RSV, at that point I felt like they would never be able to come back and I could not be able to miss any more work, I had worked a little over 2 months and was barely at work because of how much the daycare called and I was starting to struggle to even pay daycare because of missing time at work and still having to pay for something my kids couldn’t use. This was the last straw for me I had gotten a call from another daycare they were next in line and I went ahead and had them enrolled and my kids were able to attend this daycare with a runny nose because they did not have a fever, when the owner found this out she started HARASSING me, I was ignoring her because I really didn’t want to talk to her because of how rude she had been and how uncomfortable she made me feel, but when I didn’t answer, she started blowing up my work phone and repeatedly calling and calling and telling me that I needed to pay her, which was frustrating because there was no reason my kids couldn’t attend, they did not have a fever and she would not allow them to come but she wanted me to pay her, she said I did not give her a notice which she is right I didn’t but she put me in a predicament where I had to do something to keep my job and she was being unreasonable. I paid the $600 something she wanted me to pay to cover the weeks of notice I was supposed to give just to be done with her and this daycare. This was a nightmarish experience for me, and I still can’t believe me kids even last two months in this place. I would never recommend them, in fact I tell people put their kids in ANY daycare but this one. If I could give ZERO stars I would.
