My child was enrolled here for a couple months. I ended up pulling him out because one of the teachers (from a different classroom) sons (a large 9 year old) was assaulting my child, but the director (Tiana) wouldn’t do anything about it except give me excuses that the kid had sensory processing disorder and put the blame back on my child. Tiana was quick to throw blame for issues on past teachers and directors, and I felt a serious lack of personal responsibility and excuses, with no solutions being presented.
My child was slapped by this older boy 8+ times over a span of two months, pushed and eventually choked by him because my child grabbed a book the same time the other boy grabbed it (I watched the video). He wrapped his arm around my sons neck and dragged him down, before the teacher turned around and intervened. When I saw the video with the director, she said it wasn’t that big of a deal, the teacher intervened right away. The next week I spoke with a parent of a 4 year old in the school, who told me that the same 9 year old had choked her son and pushed him onto the ground. She was equally as angry as I was.
This 9 year old was slapping him son for singing, simply talking or when the boy felt annoyed by him (if he whispered during a movie).
I won’t be recommending pursuit to anyone I know. Also, the school gave little to no notice that they were closing the daycare and switching their business to a preschool? It left a lot of parents in a bind, many that I personally know.
I would be extremely cautious about using Pursuit in Snohomish place as my childcare. The leadership here is unreliable and lacks communication. They completely shutdown their infant/toddler rooms permanently with only one months notice. This left us completely blindsided and without childcare. They also did it at the worst time of year July/August when many other childcare places had completed their fall enrollment for the year. They said they had been praying about this change since the beginning of 2022. It made it impossible to find other childcare for the remainder of the year. The teachers I worked with here are great but the leadership impacts everything. They also shutdown rooms or the whole facility extremely last minute (like as families were dropping off their children) due to staffing shortages. I would not recommend this childcare / school due to how unprofessional the leadership here manages their business.
