Plan: In addition to all the changes made, I now review the DHS handbook weekly in order to ensure that we stay up to date with any changes made. Each staff member has been given a copy of the DHS regulations handbook to keep in their classroom for reference as well. We will continue to train and educate staff and new parents on regulations to ensure that proper safe sleep and infant care practices are met each day. Attached is a copy of the training handouts, certificates, training, and changes we have made to ensure the previous event does not occur again at Promise Learning Academy. All staff have completed the correct Safe Sleep training approved by OKDHS licensing. At the time I was unaware and had followed the previous directors form on the training, which was not DHS approved. Once notified it was corrected and all staff have completed the correct Safe Sleep training and certificates were submit to the case worker. In addition to Safe Sleep training, each staff has completed training on swaddling infants and watch the DHS regulations DVD received by from child care referral office. In addition I had each of the infant teachers do training on lesson plans and activities for infants to improve and ensure the safety for the children during their playtime on the floor, bounders, and in their day-to-day activities. These trainings have helped staff gain knowledge on safe floor play and more one-on-one play with the infants. We also purchased an infant curriculum to help our staff with safe transitions, sleep practices, and activities for the infant classroom. We have currently added tow new staff members to our team which has opened up my (director) availability to check in with my staff more often throughout the day. It has allowed me to give breaks, extra training, and new teaching for opportunities for my staff.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

When my son started we absolutely loved it. When the new director took over it took a turn for the worst. My son would come home with bruises and scratches. When I asked the director she told me my son was at the BOTTOM of three kids getting beat up. No report no call. This happen two separate times. Do not recommend.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I wish there was a 0 star rating. My child attended here 1 day. When we picked her up she was bawling because she was so thirsty and hungry. She said she asked for a drink and they wouldn't give her one. This tiny little 3 year old guzzled an entire bottle of water upon getting in our car. She said the grownups were mean and talked too loud (yelled). After dropping her off the next day I had a bad feeling and left work at 10 to go pick her up. I got there as they were eating lunch, rather early, at about 10:40. The raw carrots were so big and thick no toddler in there could possibly bite into them, there was a piece of wheat bread folded over (if there was something inside I couldn't see it and it must have been tiny) and a cup of milk. My daughter has a milk protein allergy. I specified this in her paperwork and with the director. They said no problem. They were giving her milk all day long the day before. She tried it, knew she shouldn't have it, and got a bad stomach ache from the one drink she took. Had nothing else to drink the rest of the day because they kept giving her exactly what she shouldn't have. When I walked in one of the workers was yelling at the kids to get in the cafeteria and completely changed her tune and demeanor when she saw me. To top all of this off, they turned me over to collections. Never contacted me for payment of the day and 1 hour she was there. Never called or mailed anything. Just turned me over to collections for a measly $120 (weekly fee) which dropped my score from an 806 to a 660 in the middle of me refinancing my house. I am so livid right now. Pay extra to go elsewhere. I found a wonderful facility a few weeks after this, I thank God for them!
