We are a child care provider located in Butte, Montana. Our main focus is on offering a safe, healthy, and fun learning enviorment for children and infants ages 0-12. I have 6 yrs of experience with children. We are licensed by the State of Montana and meet all of thier requirements. All staff are trained in cpr and first aid for your childs safety.We offer only healthy foods and snacks. Serving only healthy food and snacks gives children a sense of a balanced diet and gives them the nutrition they need. Here at O'Connell's Learn & Play Daycare we teach age appropriate learning activities and make them fun. We provide infant, toddler, and preschool curriculum based learning as allowed by parents. Arts, crafts, dance, songs, reading, and games are incorperated in our daily activities. We do indoor and outdoor activities and are located in a safe, freindly neighborhood. A typical day at O'Connell's Learn & Play Daycare includes creating masterpieces with arts & crafts and painting materials, role-play and dressing up, games and activities that stimulate your childs mind and body functions,a walk in the park or other out door activities and usually ending the day with some quiet time reading books.

We tried this daycare and were very displeased! There were some things our child told us about the daycare that was extremely disturbing. For example, our child claimed that one staff member kicked his/her bed during nap time. Further discussion revealed that they shoved our child’s bed with their foot. Either way, this behavior is NOT acceptable.
Further, we were called to pick up our child due to sickness. We understand segregating the sick children until the parent arrives. However, when we arrived our child was sitting in the living room area while other children were in the kitchen eating lunch. Our child was not provided with any food and was basically forced to watch others eat while he couldn’t.
They also claim to run a very clean daycare, but our experience was quite the contrary. Our child was not in this daycare long before he became so sick we had to take him to urgent care. The health care provider informed us that one of the staff members sought care for the same reason earlier in the week. Apparently, regular sanitation and cleanliness is not a high priority for this daycare. If a STAFF MEMBER is sick, why on earth are they coming to the daycare to pass on the illness to children and other staff?
Due to these issues, and what I consider discrimination toward our child (he/she was treated differently than others with the same very active personality), our child is no longer with this establishment.
The hours and days of operation makes the establishment very appealing to parents who have alternative work schedules. However, it is the opinion of these parents that you save yourself the trip and look for someplace else! We would not recommend this daycare to anyone. If you want a GOOD daycare this is NOT it!
