We apologize for the negative statements, which are completely false on 9/27/19, from applicants Ugochi and Nnamdi Idika on 9/27/19. Families must attend a child care orientation, provide a valid states ID and undergo a criminal background investigation for child abuse, neglect and voilence, through our program to receive a service contract for enrollment. The applicants on 9/27/19 were unable to meet the requirements. for enrollment. Theapplication was decline, notifications provided with the decsion to re-open the enrollment to the community with the warmest regards.

I must say Mrs. McSween and the Stork's Landing Home Daycare is top notch. The facility is clean and she offers the children an outstanding learning experience. Most licensed professionals get payment prior to service as many have been burned and not paid after service is rendered. I have never been to a daycare where you don't pay first. Also Childcare Providers fees are not regulated most infants fees are $250 to over $400 per week depending on the area you service. In Daycare there are men and women working professionally we need more men to role model and take care of our children. Many women who have home Daycare use their husbands as back-up providers. I give this facility 5 stars. The work isn't easy but after almost 30 years in the business and also providing care for First time mothers, children in transition and many high profile community leaders I can say she is one of the best.

I stand by my review for this establishment. And I am very proud to state who I am. Me and my husband were not given background checks or contracts to complete so how can we not “qualify” for something we were not given. Why would you care for a child for 5 days take the families money “prior to care” then put on your review they did not “qualify” once concerns about your establishment were brought to light? Me and my husband have advanced degrees in nursing and work in facilities where background checks are mandatory and frequently updated. I'm the Teacher's Aid at Stork Landing Child Care. One of the main concern is the safety of the children we service. Mrs Tonya is a pleasure to work with. She keeps her facility very sanitized, clean, an organized. In our facility we have multiple rooms to keep the students engaged throughout the day. We have the Pre-K class room, Pre-K play room , art room, private nursery and a separate nursery play room for infants and toddlers. The curriculum is age appropriate. Every one goes through an extensive back ground investigation assuring safety for all. AKA- U.I. AKA-jeoma I, going by the names ugochiNnamdi Idika were never enrolled in this program. The applicant was unable to meet the requirements for enrollment. The application was declined on 9/27/19. I can assure you that every applicant is screened in this program for enrollment. I would recommend this program for any family looking for great child care.
I just loved Stork's Landing. Mrs. McSween took care of my twin boys and daughter until they started school. I found her Daycare extremely clean and well maintained. More than anything she is a loving and caring provider. I have learned alot from her and Mr. McSween about parenting. They are a great team and run a great Daycare filled with wonderful activities. The STEM/STEAM program is something that I haven't seen at any school. She has a wonderful Art room and a great backyard for outdoor play. I highly recommend her facility to families in the D.C. metro area. I came from D.C. just to have my children in a safe loving environment.

Apparently, the applicants regrets, not meeting the deadlines for approval to qualify for infant enrollment and clearly, haven't found placement. This takes a lot of time, to be all over the internet, to write false reviews and negatively. We screen our applicants and can assure you, negative energy out. This applicant will not identify herself, because this is not her first run at defaming professional care providers. We know who you are. We are a Team of Professional Child Care Providers in Prince George's County Maryland, and you are identified. Most importantly, the applicants are going by the names of Ugochi and Nnamdi Idika, and are unable to meet the requirements for an infant enrollment. Parents BEWARE! I am going to simplify this review for readers so you can just know the basics on why this childcare center should be avoided by all costs:
1. HER HUSBAND CHANGES LITTLE GIRLS AND BOYS DIAPERS (when asked she stated “abuse can happen from either a man or a woman”)
2. THE BABIES STAY IN A DARK NURSERY ALL DAY AND CRY CONSISTENTLY
3. THE CURRICULUM STATED IS NOT WHAT IS PROVIDED. (Tonya has infants in the nursery as well as toddler and school age children many times when my child was dropped off it was only her attending to ALL of these children. How is it possible to care let alone teach children on so many different learning levels?)
4. HER PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS FOR WHATS OFFERED AND SHE TAKES EVERYTHING UPFRONT SO YOU CANNOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK. ( Tuition for a child under 3 is $250 a week PLUS $125 enrollment fee PLUS a $750 enrollment deposit.....for a in home family daycare! These prices are not told to the families up front so parents beware!)
5. THE PLACE IS FILTHY (The most alarming thing is that everyone keeps their shoes on when entering guests parents kids they go in and out from the playground and track dirt and mud in and out of the basement where the kids play sit and eat on the floor. When asked why she stated that “we have fire drills”)
Overall we do not recommend this care center to any family. When we would pick our daughter up she would be running to the door to leave. Never let the 1st day fool you. Never pay a weeks care upfront. Go with your instincts! Thank God we have found another care center for our daughter and she is happy and well cared for.
