Description: Kids in Discovery Preschool is a weekday ministry of Discovery United Methodist Church serving children from the age of 2 1/2 through 6 years of age. We are a child-oriented program with developmentally appropriate activities that will prepare your child for kindergarten while incorporating basic Christian values. We believe that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. Preschool children are naturally creative and receptive. Our staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in our students. We recognize that not all children have the same abilities. Our staff works with parents so that each child may enjoy as fully as possible his or her learning experience at Kids in Discovery Preschool.

Unfortunately I regret having to post this but I feel that others should know about the business manner of this Preschool that is associated with the United Methodist Church on Gayton Road in Henrico, Virginia.
My granddaughter begin the preschool program at Kids in Discovery on Gayton Road in mid February and would only be attending until May. She entered partial year and we paid the full registration fee for the whole year and pre-paid the last month of the program in May. Unfortunately due to the circumstances related to the coronavirus, the facility had to close. She had only attended for four weeks and I pre-paid for the last month of the program as a part of the contract agreement. However due to the unforeseen circumstances of the pandemic the contract was broken by no means of the consumer or the business. I requested a refund of the month of May since I would have to pay for someone to watch her since the day her care had now closed and I had already pre-paid them this means I had to pay double for her to be cared for all while I worked as I am an essential personnel a nurse helping work with the COVID-19 patients. The director refused a refund of the last month and I feel that that was not fair since I had to pay double for daycare finding an alternative means well they already had money for services not rendered at kids in discovery preschool. I feel that this business has bad customer service and business ethics and may need to rethink that for future planning.
