I haven't used this daycare, but it was on my list. I visited and liked it; Katherine and her husband showed me around and I asked some questions and spoke with them for a few minutes. Very nice. No indication of any problems. I told them I wanted my sister-in-law to take a look around, since she would be either dropping off or picking up my child at some point(s), and that maybe Monday or Tuesday. That was Friday morning. Well, we stop by on Monday afternoon. My sister-in-law goes in while I am waiting in the car with her and my kids. She's in there maybe five minutes. When she gets in the car she tells me what happened, that she introduced herself and everything was ok at that point (she said that Katherine was sitting at a table with some paperwork, I believe), and her husband was being very receptive, and all of a sudden Katherine just burst out saying that no, they weren't interested, that she wasn't having it...pretty much being plain rude and unprofessional, hadn't even stood up from the table, much less looked up from what she was doing to give her the time of day. I got out of the car and knocked on the door myself, and they wouldn't even open it for me. Through the door I told them I wasn't trying to be confrontational or belligerent, I just wanted to talk and ask them what was going on, and left. My sister-in-law and I were trying to figure out what in the world the deal was, why, if they didn't want to take me on as a client, would they not at least call to explain whatever the situation was to me, and be honest and professional about it from the start. On a professional level, would I recommend them? Maybe. They did seem to have a good handle on how they ran things, and sounded like they were doing it for a while. But on a personal level? Probably not. The only reason I didn't rate it lower than 3 stars is because I never left my child in their care and I'm only going by my screening experience.
