Description: Foothills Park & Recreation District was established on December 31, 1959 as South Jeffco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District and consisted of one park site.The District was renamed Foothills in 1970 and currently maintains forty-one developed park sites, three regional parks, eight community parks, thirteen miles of trails, 2 public golf course facilities and fourteen reservoirs/ponds and conservation areas totaling more than 3,079 acres of public land.
