Description: Erna Krouch Preschool is the oldest continuously operating preschool in Oklahoma City. The Erna Krouch Preschool moved to Temple B'nai Israel in 1955 and was named after a woman who loved children and who had a dream of welcoming children of all races creeds, and ethnic origins in the Oklahoma City area. We continue to follow in that tradition.

Plan: All employees will be given our new employee handbook with our updated discipline policy along with everything that is allowed and not allowed outlined. All employees must read the handbook and sign that they have read, understand and will comply with all policies. All employees will be given our new social emotional curriculum. Part of this curriculum includes creating a space in their classrooms for a calm corner and how to use this space. All staff will be instructed on how to use this space and to allow children to use this space according to the curriculum. Our new curriculum coordinator will check on the teachers to ensure that the curriculum is understood, calm corners are created in every room and the curriculum is being followed and used properly. Additional training will be given to all new staff and anyone who has not had classroom management training within the past 2 years. Our curriculum coordinator will ensure that all staff are receiving the training and following the correct procedures that align with our policies. |

Plan: All employees will be given training to ensure that everyone has the proper knowledge of how classroom management is to be handled. A new social emotional curriculum has been purchased to help both teachers and children to deal with feelings and emotions appropriately and meet each child’s needs. All teachers will be given tools and training on how to respond and handle children appropriately. A new employee handbook with updated policies will be given to each employee and must be read and the employees agree that they have read, understand and agree to abide by all policies before the first day of school. All teachers will be evaluated on a regular schedule and performance evaluations will be given with any corrections or trainings needed. If employees fail to comply with corrections or take trainings needed then they may be terminated. |
