A child in space 4 has been prescribed a medication requiring the medication be given to the child 3x daily before meals and 4x daily before snack. Medication authorization, giving the caregiver standing authorization did not meet the specifications in rule. A child enrolled in space 4 and a child enrolled in space 5 have prescribed medication for a chronic illnesses. Both document a 1-year authorization to administer the medication. Authorization periods for administering emergency medications such as epi-pens and Albuterol are only valid for six months at a time.
