This place is amazing! I’ve only been taking my son since October, but he’s two and I’ve already seen major improvement in his speech and potty training is pretty much done aside from night time. He’s always singing songs now and loves his teacher Ms. Katie. I’m pretty sure potty training at home would be horrible still if I hadn’t started taking him here. He can now count to 20, knows his whole alphabet, shapes and colors. If you’re new to needing daycare or need to switch this is the place to go. You can tell Tammy who owns/runs everything truly loves the kids and what she does. The best places are ones run by people who want to and it shows:)
First off, from the post above, I want to say.. I AM IN THE MILITARY! She has been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful and their for our young child. Businesses are businesses. If something says it is non refundable, that isn't the director's fault, and as an adult we shouldn't whine about that. In fact, the actions the person was speaking above makes us military people look bad.
This school is amazing! They are new, but Mrs. Cross knows what she is talking about. I did not know the people before coming here, I too am new to the area. We just moved from San Diego, CA to Las Vegas. When we first moved here, we put our daughter in La Petite Acadamy-- NEVER GO THERE! It was horrible. My daughter went from almost counting to 20 to hardly counting to 10.. she disliked it and was sad to go there every day. We pulled her out and now she has been at this facility for 3 months now... She now counts past 30! The teachers are soooo kind and will treat your child like their own. I am extremely pregnant, and they have all offered to help us out since we do not know anyone. If you are a government employee or with Public Safety, they give you a 25% discount... YOU CAN NOT BEAT THAT!We got 3 days a week all day and pay $360, I believe.. maybe a little less?? The classes are extremely small so the kids receive one and one time. The parents are involved as well with the school, which makes it even better! Also, for a Christian academy, they do not make your little child sit through an hour long chapel... at the most it is 30 min and they teach them a small lesson, then talk about safety each week! They are SUCH good people...
I feel bad for the couple above ^^^ But a business is a business, and if you read through the paperwork, it states it is non refundable. I do not think you should give them 1 star for something YOU decided after making your decision. It really makes you look bad.
I just moved with the military to the Las Vegas area, and Crossroads Christian Academy came recommended from friends, as they discount tuition 25% for military members. I called and made an appointment with the director for a tour. She asked if I could come right away, which I could, as she had a dental appointment in an hour.
I got there, and took a tour of the school, which was fine, and in speaking with the director, I let her know that I was heading out of town the next morning, and wanted to hold my son's place, but wouldn't be able to get all the paperwork together before then to have him registered. She said that was fine. We agreed that I would give her a check for deposit of $150 to hold his place, and then come back two weeks later (after I returned from TDY). The check was to be held until that time.
In the meantime, my husband and I decided to keep our son, who is 2 1/2, home for another year. I called the director to request my check back, but they had deposited the check the day that they received it, and said that it's non-refundable. I explained that it was nothing against their facility, that it was my personal decision. The director stood firm on the fact that it was a registration fee, non-refundable, though the only information they had about my son was his name, my name, and my phone number. I didn't fill out their registration packet, and did not sign anything saying that my son would attend their school.
The director said that they would hold his place, and if we decided to go to their school within the next year, then we wouldn't have to pay the registration fee again.
I am now sorry that I gave them that money, as it's $150 down the drain. It also left a bad taste in my mouth, dealing with people that, "support our military", and thank my family for our service. Also, I didn't believe they were very Christian in the way they made me feel bullied that my son would have to go there.
I would not recommend this school to anyone, seeing as though they didn't keep their word in holding the money until I could get the paperwork turned in, then refusing to give it back when I decided to go another way. It doesn't matter to me what kind of discount they give to the military. Show support when you are actually faced with someone in the military, not just giving lip service that you do.
