Description: We provide high-quality, affordable preschool, kindergarten-readiness, before- and after-school extended learning opportunities, and summer-long learning camp programs. Families who enter our program are entering a network of assistance that fosters long-term benefits.
Our programs are located onsite at 9 Seattle Public Schools (SPS) in Central, West, and Southeast Seattle and serve a diverse population of students. All of the SPS schools we serve except one are Title I schools, meaning that they receive additional federal funding because they serve a disproportionate amount of lower-income students and need additional support to ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
Due to budget cuts, public schools are increasingly relying on our services and programs to help students who are in need of extra support. At CDSA we teach the academic and social skills needed for long-term success: science and math through nature walks, cooking, music, building models, and science experiments; empathy through arts and drama; self-expression through music and dance; and other hands-on learning opportunities. We individualize our learning plans for our children and focus on decision-making and empowering them to grow an internal compass to guide them toward good choices in life.
All six of our preschool programs have been awarded a Quality Level of Excellence rating by Early Achievers (Washington State’s quality rating and improvement system) and are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
