Description: Hi, I'm Melissa Cardenas, owner of The Lighthouse state-licensed childcare. In 2017 I graduated from Drexel University with an M.S. in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Development and opened my first family-licensed childcare facility the same year. My main goal was to provide high quality care to children of working parents with school drop off and pick up for school age children, as this was something I struggled to find as a working parent. Aside from helping each child learn and develop in a warm, caring environment, I want each parent to feel comfortable and reassured that their child is in good hands. I make it a point to document each day with photos and text message updates so every parent can feel they know how their child's day is going. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to care for children and offer learning experiences in a fun, play-based format that meets state early childhood education standards. I look forward to meeting you and your child and hope I can meet your childcare needs!
