Campus Elementary is a neighborhood school with a great deal of innovative reforms that promote best instructional practices and professional learning communities. One of its leading strategies of reform was the decision to adopt an alternative calendar. The calendar allows it to capitalize on the use of time by shortening the summer vacation, thus reducing the amount of information students tend to lose over the summer. The calendar also allows Campus to intervene though intersession to accelerate and remediate instruction at both ends of the learning spectrum.
