Description: Founded more than 20 years ago and dedicated to providing a loving, safe, and supportive environment for children and their parents, Appletree Academy I is located in the heart of Columbia County at 501 The Pass in Martinez.
We offer a wide range of childcare services for children ages six weeks to twelve years of age including all day care for nursery, toddlers, and preschoolers as well as before and after school care for nearby Columbia County public and private schools. In addition, we offer care during school holidays as well as a summer camp for school age children. We also offer two Bright from the Start, lottery-funded Pre-K classrooms.
Appletree’s curriculum is a combination of High Reach Learning, and Pinnacle, as well as High Scope which is used in our Pre-K classrooms.
These are all designed to provide a fun and stimulating learning environment for your children. We are also very excited to be able to offer extra opportunities in activities such as computers and music. All classrooms are set up with age-appropriate materials, adequate space, and access to one of three spacious playgrounds with age-appropriate toys and equipment.
Our highly trained staff are required to stay up to date in CPR, first aid, fire safety, and also maintain an additional 10 hours of approved child care training each year. Our Pre-K teachers must have their bachelor’s degrees and each paraprofessional is certified through at least a Child Development Associate degree. They must also complete an additional 15 hours of Pre-K training each year.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. This daycare is an awesome daycare. However I do think they are raping the parents with the cost per week, yearly registration fee and a curriculum fee. What if a "married" parent like myself have 3 kids but could not afford to sit at home? I think if a person decides to open up a daycare, they should have the capital to fund curriculum for the classrooms. Parents should not have to come out of pocket for that expense. That would be all 3 fees times 3. I am almost considering staying at home. Not only that, the kids are not bringing anything home to show they are working with the curriculum. That would be my only complaint. I try to think about other ways they are great and try to overlook the expense however that reoccurring fee for registration and curriculum is too great for 3 and you don't see the benefits of it. I think the cost per week is enough
