My children went there a little over one week. I loved the toddler teacher, but the preschool/ pre-k teacher I had problem with. Upon registering my kids to attend here, I expressed my concerns with my kids going to a new school ( they've been to the same school since they were 6 weeks old; now 5 and 3) also that my 5 year old struggled with expressing her anger. They assured me that they have only ever asked one kid to leave the center and they work with all kinds of behavioral problems. The next day I get a call saying I need to get my daughter ( I have never been told I need to pick up my daughter due to something other than illness in 5 years) they told me she threw some toys and used inappropriate language. She did fine the next two days, then I got another call from the director telling she is not at the center but the teacher called her (while in ratio) upset and that Ava is head butting the teacher and the teachers nose is bleeding I need to pick Ava up. I rushed out of work to get her freaking out because Ava is not that violent to head butt. I get to the school and the director is still not there and her teacher is fine with no nose bleed at all and said that Ava was in her lap and flung backwards to get down and that's how she head butt her. I asked the teacher if that means she was restraining my daughter to need to fling back to get off her lap, she got all nervous and said no and explained all the other methods used to help calm her down, all methods of which I have told them don't work with her. I got angry and stopped her and said I don't believe you didn't restrain her I will just go ask her ( she was in the office) I walked out and got my other child before going to the office to get my daughter, and leaving my sons room she was standing in the doorway of her classroom and said okay I did hold her down but.. I cut her off and stormed out. The director later called me and said that she was just holding her arms down from hitting her and I explained the story to the director and assured her that the story she was told by this teacher is different than what I was told by her that she was also holding her legs and arms.. I have not heard from this center again and am reporting to state this incident. As a mother and a former child care teacher every aspect of this teacher was unprofessional and unexceptable. The director did nothing but make excuses and my children will never return to this center.
