We believe that each child is a unique individual worthy of respect and love.ÿ Therefore, we commit to: Inspire creativity and curiosity * Listen and respond with encouragement * Empower each child's distinctive voice * Foster independence Our school uses a thematic approach to learning. Themes are chosen based on their developmental appropriateness and the interests of each class. All classes include themes relating to our bodies, families, and community; animals and nature; and various topics about how things work. Many of the materials in the classroom change with the theme and reflect the interests and diversity of the children. Our rooms are arranged in learning centers so that children are naturally supported in their play choices and are able to actively participate in the care and maintenance of the room.
The goal of our award winning Early Childhood Education program is to foster Jewish values and to develop enthusiasm and a love of our beautiful heritage. The Program's objectives are to encourage independence and a positive, happy self image. Skills development, through the use of educational material enhance language, reasoning, and motor skills. Our program, licensed by the State of Ohio, is designed to make our children's entry into school a positive, exciting, enthusiastic one. We do this by providing a warm, secure environment with many experiences that assure each child success, and an integrated approach combining a vast amount of Yiddishkeit with art, music, movement, dramatic play, science, math, language and cognitive activities. Since these early years are crucial in forming a child's self-image, we use much specific praise to reinforce any positive behaviors and to make each of our children feel special. We concentrate on developing the "whole" child, socially and emotionally, linguistically, cognitively, and physically. We take each child from the level at which he is and encourage constant growth through providing challenging and age appropriate activities that both encourage a questioning mind and increase knowledge and skills. Above all we want our children to love school, enthusiastically observe mitzvos and to be a lifelong Torah learner.
