What makes our Center different is that each child has a primary staff caregiver who works intensively on building a close relationship with the child. We then match hand picked volunteers to each child in order to build a close nurturing relationship, much like a grandparent might have. Staff to baby ratio’s are very low insuring that each baby is given as much consistent love, attention and encouragement as possible during these crucial first few months of their lives.

The goal of the program is to ensure that the area's youth have good nutrition throughout the summer, when school lunch programs are not operating. The Feed N' Fun program is partially funded through the United States Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program. Federal funds are distributed from the USDA to the Office of Public Instruction, who then contracts with RMDC to run the program. USDA funding is supplemented by RMDC through Community Service Block Grant money.
RMDC Ray Bjork site
Helena, MT 59601
(406) 324-2900
Due to an increasing number of students receiving services provided by the Helena School District Special Education Pre School and Rocky Mountain Development Council (RMDC) Head Start, the space available in the downtown Neighborhood Center has become inadequate to provide quality learning space for the early education program. We determined Ray Bjork School would provide an excellent location for children receiving Special Education and Head Start pre-school services. Head Start will continue to provide services to children at the Neighborhood Center, Lincoln School and Rossiter Elementary this fall. The long standing partnership between the Helena School District and RMDC Head Start will continue as we expand services at Ray Bjork School.
