It is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. The program is operated by local non-profit organizations in almost every county in the United States. Children who attend participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe environment. Head Start/Early Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. The program serves children 6 weeks to 4 years of age, who meet the Federal income guidelines. Head Start is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children, Youth and Families.

In addition to PK3 - 8th grade, Belvoir Christian Academy offers child care for infants ages six weeks through early age three. The Center is located on the BCA campus, with rooms dedicated to these age groups. We offer a year-round program, open weekdays, 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., closed only on major holidays. We also offer a year-round program for children ages 3 and 4. Children may attend year-round or for the academic school year (40 weeks). Both 3 and 5-day options are available. The curriculum for the academic school year is a kindergarten-readiness program. Academic hours during the school year (Aug. - May) are 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children will have lunch and come back to their classroom at 1 p.m. for after-care, which is available until 6 p.m. daily, or they may be picked up at 1 p.m. Childcare is year-round, and our summer program includes many fun, seasonal and age-appropriate activities such as water days, movie and pajama days, visits from a petting zoo, the TN Aquarium and more. Families may request application information by contacting the Center's Admissions Director at 423.622.3755, ext. 18 or admissions@bcalions.org. We also encourage families to visit the facility by scheduling a day-time tour with Emily Patton during office hours (9 a.m. - 3 p.m.). Evening tours are available at our evening open houses, 4 - 7 p.m. on the scheduled evenings. (Evening Open Houses are held for most months throughout the year.
