Number of children exceeded number allowed. I observed eleven (11) children at the family child care home upon arrival today. Per the permit, Ms. Evans cannot exceed eigth (8) children.

The home was not in compliance with permit restrictions. I observed Ms. Evans caring for eleven (11) children upon arrival today. During the visit five (5) children left with their parents including two (2) sets of siblings and one other school age child. This left six (6) children in the home including four (4) preschool children and two (2) school age children.

The operator did not review the EPR Plan annually or when information in the plan changed to ensure all information is current. The last date on the EPR plan was 2016. The EPR plan viewed today also stated it was a DRAFT.

Operator did not keep records of monthly fire drills, quarterly lockdown or shelter-in-place drills, incident reports, incident logs, accurate attendance, emergency numbers, emergency preparedness and response plan, field trip/transportation permission, pet vaccinations records and/or playground inspections monthly outdoor safety checks for a minimum of one year. It was observed that playground inspections were not documented since November 2022.

Prescription or over-the-counter medication and topical, non-medical ointment, repellant, lotion, cream, fluoridated toothpaste, or powder was administered to any child without the required information. It was observed that Burt Paste, Aquaphor, and Crisco were administered without permission to administer.

Screen time was not prohibited for children under the age of three. The operator did not offer alternative activities for children under the age of three years. Upon arrival, the TV was on and two children under three were in attendance. The TV was turned off during the visit.

All indoor and outdoor areas used by the children were not kept clean, orderly, and free of items which are potentially hazardous to children including removal of items a child can swallow; the removal of loose nails or screws and splinters on inside; and use of outdoor equipment that is too hot to touch. Outside, I observed a small amount of animal feces in the back right corner of the fenced play area. Inside, I observed uncovered outlets on two power strips. The outlets were covered during the visit.

Corrosive agents, pesticides, bleaches, detergents, cleansers, polishes, and products under pressure in an aerosol dispenser and any substance that may be hazardous to a child if ingested, inhaled, or handled were not kept in locked storage when children were in care. In the restroom, I observed personal hygiene and cleaner stored unlocked. The items were placed in locked storage during the visit.
