About the Provider
Head Start is a federally funded school readiness program for preschool children ages 3-5 years, from families that meet income guidelines based on 100% of the federal poverty guidelines, are foster children, are homeless or receiving public assistance. Ten percent of enrollment slots are available for children with professionally diagnosed disabilities. NOCAC Head Start provides Center, Home Based and Combined Option services to 465 children in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding and Williams counties from September through May.
Children enrolled in the NOCAC Head Start program participate in a variety of educational and school readiness activities. In addition they also receive medical, dental, mental health, developmental, language and literacy screenings, individualized curriculum based on identified needs, healthy meals and snacks and will enjoy learning and playing both indoors and outdoors in safe, age appropriate learning environments. All Center facilities are licensed by the State of Ohio.
