Description: Carthage Elementary, has approximately 480 students grades K-4. Special Education classes K-4, as well as resource rooms are provided.

The focus on Early Literacy connecting Reading, Writing and Language can be seen in the primary classrooms. Carthage Elementary offers a School Age Child Care Program before/after school to meet families’ needs. We proudly offer a strong Fine Arts Program, Physical Education Program and have computers for students use in each classroom.
The physical plant is "child oriented", as noted by the warm welcome and figures painted on the front sidewalk. Carthage Elementary School strives to be involved with community leaders as evidenced by the partnership with Slack Chemical Company. We work with the local food pantry and with many organizations such as the Elk’s Lodge and Lion’s Club.
Carthage Elementary's active Parent-Teacher Organization, earns thousands of dollars every year for the children, such as computer equipment, field trips and guest speakers/assemblies.
At Carthage Elementary School creativity, imagination and a strong work ethic is encouraged and valued, and is a school-community partnership.
