Description: The WVU Child Learning Center (CLC) opened on August 3, 2009. The center is managed by Hildebrandt Learning Centers, LLC.
The center is licensed to provide care to over 200 children ages 6 weeks to school age. In addition to expansive classroom spaces, the center boasts a private space for nursing mothers, a large indoor playroom, and a fenced natural outdoor play space with separate areas for preschoolers and those under three.
The center is intended to serve the childcare needs of University students and employees. If space permits, children of members of the community may be offered enrollment in the Center.
All meals are prepared on site. The Child Learning Center provides children with breakfast and lunch as well as an afternoon snack. All menus are developed by a registered dietitian. Weekly menus are posted in advance. Meals and snacks are planned to meet nutritional requirements recommended by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) which is run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The Child Learning Center meets all licensing requirements of the state of West Virginia. It is licensed by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau of Children and Families, Division of Early Care and Education.
