Description: Wee Friends Nursery School and Summer Program was established in 1978, following the Haim Ginot philosophy which always focuses on the positive. Wee Friends believes that a cultural sharing curriculum should focus in on the development of the “whole child”. Therefore, careful planning on behalf of the directors and teachers provide children with the daily, hands-an-experiences that help them develop physically, emotionally, socially, psychologically and academically. Children two years through six years can enjoy a full Nursery and Kindergarten program, where a limited size allows for individual attention. In addition to stimulating creative class activities, each room has a discovery center where children “self discover” concepts and skills, always under the direction of certified and caring teachers. Wee Friends offers library and gym class, a full music program and an art history program where children are introduced to the masters and various art techniques. Teachers are certified and specialized in their field, and personally get to know every child at Wee Friends. A spacious, state-of-the-art, all wood outdoor playground includes Pedal-Push-Village, a locomotive center where children can ride tricycles, mini-cars, trucks, and buses. Special annual events include a traditional Thanksgiving feast, celebrated complete with Chief Pishy Wishy and Pilgrim Hana Pogana, under a tent. Children also enjoy picking their own pumpkin from an on-site pumpkin patch complete with scarecrows, hay and farmers! Wee Friends is a culturally sharing school, celebrating all holidays through song, dance and cooking.
