My wife and I were seeking P/T care for our newborn son and 4 year old daughter and found VFCC. After going through the entire process of phone and face-to-face interviews, then calling her references we signed up and provided her with a deposit, which would secure our spot. Four weeks later, we received a hand written letter from Brenda (no phone call) saying that she decided to take on 2 full time children instead and refunded our deposit! Upon contacting her to find out why she had cancelled our previously agreed upon contract, she gave the above reason as well as the following: 1. My wife wrote in our contact that we would like to be notified of any issues that occur with our children. Brenda was confused by this statement and said she felt like we were questioning her and calling her a liar. 2. Despite the fact that we were more than happy with Brenda, she said she got the feeling that we didn't like her and didn't want to bring our kids to her day care. She felt like she was our last resort, when in actuality, she was at the top of our list. 3. After requesting to change one of our requested days (from wed to thurs), Brenda agreed, with no issue, but during this phone call said she was not happy with the change. My wife and I were initially very happy with Brenda and Vice Family Day Care, but were beyond frustrated when she blindsided us by cancelling our agreement out of greed! If the above so called concerns were real, they should've been voiced when they occured, rather than wasting our time!! The way this was handled shows a lack of communication, judgement, and professionalism! In the end, I'm glad we found this out ahead of time, rather than leaving our two children in her care.
