Our childcare center is based on a Waldorf inspired theme. Our hope is for the children in our care to develop into independent, confident, lifelong learners with a love of learning. With each child we strive to develop: A sense of belonging Respect of others Enthusiasm for exploration We also encourage: Acceptance of all children, focus on real rather than virtual experiences, meaningful practical work (such as cooking, baking, gardening, and handwork), and artistic activities (such as storytelling, music, drawing and painting, rhythmic games, and modeling that foster the healthy development of imagination and creativity). We have also chosen to implement the play-based learning framework of Creative Curriculum for Preschool. Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive system of learning based on research and knowledge in all areas of child development-social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language. Creative Curriculum for preschool provides extensive guidance for teachers in the areas of literacy, math, science, social skills, and the arts. As children make choices about where to play in the classroom, they are learning a variety of skills.
Unfortunately, this daycare isn't following the Waldorf theme like they planned. A lot of the children get left unattended or left alone with the owners 14 year old son, which I find to be inappropriate. The owners son has been pulled out of school and he stays in the nap room. I've heard comments being made about them being understaffed or not being in ratio. Half the time the children are being yelled at. I've come in the mornings to drop my child off and have seen the children being left alone in the preschool portion of the building while the teachers are talking on the baby side. The center has been reported for these problems a couple of times. A complaint has been made to state and they have been out to visit.
This Childcare center hasn't been open for 6 months... we waited all summer for this school to open & followed the staff over from another school. Anyone who knows the owners/teachers & actually spends time at the school would know the truth. When we started we knew there wouldn't be a kitchen, my kids love it there and don't want to leave when I come for pick up. The owners/teachers at the school are the ones that reported the previous schools owner to the state and news for her doings. I trust the staff completely at sprouts and I'm so thankful for them opening their own center.
First of all this center hasn't been open for 6 months. The review above comes from another parent that was asked to find other care when we as parents, complained that her children are sick all of the time and she refused to pick then up. We followed the wonderful teachers from another school where the owner was doing illegal things and the staff reported her. The owner and the teachers are doing a great job in the care of our child. Before my child started I knew they didn't have a kitchen and they are still able to provide cooking and science activities for my child. We waited six months for this center to open because we trust the staff. It bugs me that people like the person above has no problem stating untrue things. Obviously its true that this parent didn't spend any time at the center.
Don't even bother sending your children here they are so unprofessional and they blame the children for getting their staff sick but I never once saw a staff member wash their hands or use sanitizer after changing a diaper or wiping a snotty nose. They claim to show the children who to cook, bake, and gardening which is some of the top reasons we chose to send our child here even with the high tuition but it turns out they don't even have a working kitchen! They plan on increasing tuition to pay for a kitchen! Even though in the contract you sign it states they have a kitchen and will provide meals for your child, they will secretly tell you to provide food for them until they get a kitchen which was only supposed to be for their first two months of being open but here they are still operating without a kitchen. The staff doesn't care about the children and they shove the young ones in very small rooms and do not let them out except when they want to let your children play outside in December in the freezing cold and rain and wonder why children keep getting sick. They are unorganized and do not turn on the heat in the morning for the children, they have to wear their jackets and hats inside because it is so freezing cold. The teachers are rude and you can tell they do not love their jobs with the exception of maybe one or two if your lucky your child will only deal with those teachers but most likely they will have to be scolded by the grumpy ones who hate their jobs. They are here simply to make money and are very greedy people. Most of their teachers have been reported for the previous facility that they all worked at that got shut down by the state. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with these people they are nothing like their application says they are and you children will be miserable.
