I want to thank Yellow Medicine County for having this web page available.
I have been looking or a daycare provider and this provider is on my way to my job. Had it not been for these reviews, I would have contacted her.
The two "anonymous" reviews COMPLETELY contradict each other....one says she never transports children, the other says she has taken kids to games with her. One of them says she is on the food program but after reaching out to a couple of families that have used her, she is not because "the paperwork was to much compared to what the program provided."
After reading the reviews and doing my own research, a lot of families have come and gone from this daycare.
Again, thank you SO much for having this available. It provided some very important information when trying to find daycare for my child.
I normally don't do this but I have never had a problem with Amy. She help out when she can as in taking your child earlier or later if you need. She has taken kids with her to sporting events and enjoys watching her own children at their games. She is on the food program so she doesn't serve food she can't. She can't help there are a lot of picky kids so she make them a sandwich so they have something to eat if they don't like what is served. She does activities with the children and now that they are on the farm they have plenty of space and outdoor stuff for the kids to do. The kids are well taken care of. She works with them with potty training and getting them ready for school. She does have rules just like a school were there is no screaming or running but they are allowed to be creative.
I have known for daycare provider for over 5 years. She is amazing with kids of all ages. She makes good healthy meals for kids and has substitute sandwiches. She does not transport children. She has 2 boys of her own. She does enjoy supporting sporting events- especially when her boys are in the sport. Her family has moved to a farm place, so now kids have lots of room to play in a huge yard with her supervision. I have no issue with trusting her.
I typically never write reviews but I do feel the need to weigh in on this situation. I did use Amy as a daycare provider when she first started. She had her day care in town at the time. When she told me they were moving to the country, she also said her day care would REMAIN in town. NOT true, all of a sudden we were supposed to drive 13 miles out of town (one way) to continue with her. While I never felt like my kids were in danger, I was concerned with watching tv all day, eating boxed mac and cheese, microwaved chicken nuggets and peanut butter only (no jelly) sandwiches. She takes an excessive amount of time off following all her kids sporting events. While I do not fault any parent attending events for their kids, it does not work for anyone that has an 8 to 5 job to be picking up kids any where from noon to 3 between 2 and 4 days a week and still being charged for full time hours. If all of these things are of no concern for your family, her day care is okay. In the end, we found a different day care.
I have had my child in Amy's care for more than two years I've never had any issues at all wonderful with kids awesome with potty training also goes out of her way if you're a little late to watch your children she hasn't ever had anybody named Tori or Heather and I talk to Jess and that was not her review don't know who is bad-mouthing her but Amy is a good person and an awesome day care provider!!!
I would not recommend this provider. Also this is not her location anymore.
Started out very good, the not so much.
She has left my children in the car unattended at least once, that I know of. Would feed plain peanut butter sandwiches often. Took lots of days off and made you pay for all those days off or closing early. My children would often be upset having to go there and say they didn't want to go. My child, old enough to know better, would tell me they were told to "shut up". She is constantly on her phone, posting and selling things to Facebook.
