Description: The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern California (RIO) was established in 1950 to serve the multi-faceted needs of persons with functional disabilities caused by birth defects, disease, medical conditions or accidents. Services are provided without regard to age, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender. RIO attains its goal of improving the quality of life of disabled persons by providing comprehensive, coordinated programs which increase the ability of disabled individuals to function at home and at school, on the job, and in the community.
