Description: Purple Turtle Preschool is Dickson's new and modern Childspace. Our facility is located right off Highway 46 onto Marshall Stuart Drive torwards the Industrial Park - 2 buildings past the VFW. Currently, the school accepts children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. The seperate School-Age facility will be complete soon. Purple Turtle is open from 5:30 am - 7:30 pm Monday thru Friday - offering a Nationally Accredited Preschool Cirriculum in the daytime.
They don’t have enough staff for children according to state laws. They aren’t teaching the children at all, it’s not a preschool it’s a daycare. Their are no locks and the children have consistently been seen outside without super vision. The children are not given direction have just free reign of the area and the day.
I worked here for 8 months. The director acts so unprofessional and childish. And the owner does not do her job and is never there. She didn't know the parents or kids that went to the day care. She treated the actually good employees like crap and would treat bad ones super well. The owner is very disrespectful and will share information regarding you to other employees. :$3 shared my Termination with other employees and heard it from them before she told me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I know as for me I will never think one good thing about this place and my child will NEVER go there. She can't keep teachers and she uses the good ones to her advantage and will discard them. I done everything I was asked of and more and worked OFF THE CLOCK to get things done for her when no one else would. Her daycare is a joke and it's not worth taking the time to even attempt to work here. When I first put in my application I read comments but disregarded them because she seemed like a good person but she is absolutely crazy. Don't fall for her crap. The owner and the director are absolutely disrespectful and will just walk all over you and then fire you once they found "better" people or just get tired of you and they will just make up crazy reasons as to why they fired you. I highly don't recommend this daycare. And I would rate a 0 but that's not an option
Ask any former employee of “The Purple Turtle” and you may be cautioned concerning the practices of this business. My wife worked at this pre-K school—it was terrible experience. My wife has worked at pre-K schools for over seven years and even has a degree in childhood development—she knows what she’s doing and does very good work. “The Purple Turtle” was the most unorganized and unprofessional of any school she has ever worked at. Besides the atrocious turnover rate and low wages, the main problem is the OWNER of the business. The owner is disrespectful, discourteous, and disregarding of her employees. My wife was taken advantage of, used, and discarded. It was truly the worst pre-K employment experience she ever had. The owner may appear to be ok, but her true colors are nasty. I would NEVER send my kids to “The Purple Turtle” and I sincerely advise that you do not either.
