I have used this provider for less than 6 months

This is a hole in the wall daycare center. From day one I had a bad feeling when I met the owner Christina Marsh but we were in a pinch to find a daycare with an infant room. In our first interaction she was very dismissive, rude and short answered to many of our questions. It seemed we were inconveniencing her. The first issue was the cleanliness of the infant room; the newborn refrigerator had mold on the inside seal, we brought it to her attention she said she would clean it. A few days later when wife was dropping the newborn off, the mold still was not cleaned and we made her aware again and it was still not cleaned. This daycare makes my child’s infants bottle, which I know is a DCF violation. They didn’t have enough infants so they put my infant with the one year olds which is another DCF violation. Second, our 2-year-old had one or two incidents with biting when he was teething at the last daycare but had not had one in 6 months, when he first got to the new daycare he was uncomfortable and had a biting incident and was biting himself, instead of dealing with the behavior, she threatened to kick him out and blamed us (the parents) for the behavior. We did come up with a solution but the whole way the situation was handled rubbed us the wrong way. When my son would come home, we would discover multiple bruises on his shins or scratch marks and there would be no incident reports on what had happened. When we questioned it, they reported that all the kids bruise themselves on the ladder on the slide and nothing was done. They put my 2-year-old son in a class with 4 and 5-year-old children, which is another DCF violation. Over the next three months we noticed Christina became more and more rude, mean and ugly to everyone including ourselves. There were multiple incidents where Christina was yelling at children. Christina has her 13-year-old son working there all day who is home schooled at the daycare, some of the things he would say were weird and having this kid watch over young children seems inappropriate. Over the past 3 months they have gone through multiple employees and we never knew who would be watching over our children. They never have enough staff and end up putting all the children in the same room on multiple occasion. When we finally decided to leave she gave us problems with taking our children out. Christina Marsh has an arrest record on 3/12/2014 in Port St Lucie for giving alcoholic beverages to persons under 21. Overall I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt because we were in desperate need for a daycare but I wish I had not.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

This took me a long time to write this because I didn't know what to say, but now it is time. My son started this preschool in January 2015. Now, just some background...Colin has hearing problems. He had surgery in August 2014 and just had to have it again in July 2015 so he was not hearing well and not speaking well either. At first it started off well, Colin liked to go to school and the teachers enjoyed him. Then one day, I was 3 minutes late picking up Colin. I know because as I pulled into the parking lot, it said 6:03pm. I was late from work and got there as fast as I could. I rushed in and immediately apologized to everyone. The director, Christina, then decided to reprimand me and yelled at me. I was shocked, but I knew I was in the wrong so I let it go. The next day, I picked up Colin and I was told that Colin was bad that day, was not given specifics and I just figured he had a bad day. Then the next day, I was told Colin was bad again, I asked for specifics and the teacher just said he wouldn't listen. My child had just turned 3 the previous October, so that is normal. It went on for about 2 weeks of that Colin was a bad kid, he wouldn't listen. I talked to Colin about it as best I could for a 3 year old and he just told me that he didn't like Miss Gladys and Miss Christina. Then one day another parent told me that her kid was told not to play with Colin because he was a bad kid. So I found out that Colin had no friends because the teachers told the other parent's kids not to play with Colin. I then knew I had to get Colin out of this school. I do not think it was against Colin, but against me because of being late or whatever this lady has a problem with me for. I had to take him one more time, because I had work, and then I was to find a new school, but they did the work for me and kicked him out of school telling me that my just turned 3 year old needed psychological /behavioral help and that he is "kind of like rainman" in the director's own words. Unbelievable. He couldn't hear well, the director had been informed of this also and his surgery and not being able to speak well because of that either, and ended up needing 2 surgeries. He is not rainman. Horrible school, horrible to the parents of this awesome kid who now goes to Ivy League preschool where he is on purple every day (which is the highest awesome level to be on), one of the highest in his class, teachers are helping with his speech and understanding that he is still working on hearing. He is doing so much better by the way with hearing, the surgeon did an awesome job. The other thing I would recommend before entering this school if you still decide to is to check out mugshots and do your research. You'll be surprised who you see on there. Words of warning.

I absolutely would not be leaving my child with Miss Christina she was just currently in jail for serving under age minors alcohol at a bar bartending half naked. What a shame. That is completely unacceptable behavior for someone caring for children. I don't even know how she was able to open a daycare taking care of adolescence. Shows how much research you really have to do on someone, apparently anyone can own a daycare and have our children in their care, might as well give out daycares to everyone! Let's do some background searches on these people we are trusting with our kids, it's worth it. I wouldn't be paying a woman money to watch my child when just a few months ago she was serving children alcohol and actually went to jail for it.
