On Friday, October 11th, my sister in-law went to pick my son up from his daycare, DLC Academy. She got there went to all the classrooms finally a teacher asked who she was looking for she told them, they walked her across the hall to his classroom and asked the teacher in there for my son. The teacher acted like she had no idea who my sister in-law was talking about she started describing my son and then the teacher remembered my son and told my sister in-law he was not there and hadn’t been all day long. She asked if she was sure because they pick him up from school and the teacher said yes he hasn’t been here. So my sister in-law calls me to figure out what’s going on but I was at work so I couldn’t answer. I was planning on staying later at my job but I had a bad feeling so I left my job at 6:05 and checked my phone as soon as I got off and saw missed calls from my sister in-law and the daycare. The daycare saying my son was still there and needs to be picked up. I, of course, ran and got him. I said my sister in-law was supposed to pick him today and she acted like my sister in-law was never there. She then demanded that I pay a late fee in cash. I called my sister-in-law to see what happened and she went to the daycare and the same woman that told her my son was not there was the one that demanded money from me when I picked my son up. When I called the director Monday to figure out where my child was when my sister in-law came to get him neither her nor the teacher could tell me anything other than that he was in the building. If he was in the building my sister in-law would’ve seen him. She was in the building for 20-30 minutes. Stood in his classroom for 10-15 minutes thinking he was in the bathroom but she never saw him. When on the phone with the director she couldn’t tell me any answers and was very rude about the situation never once apologized or took any sort of responsibility for what happened. She asked me if she was getting my son from school Monday and I said “yes I don’t have anything else set up yet” she then said “ok when you pick up make sure you have the money.” I told her that I would not be paying anything until I had answers she said “I’m not doing this with you. I’m not picking him up.” And hung the phone up on me.
I want people to be warned about this daycare. I’m sure this is not the first time something like this has happened here especially with the way the handled it! Please warn other parents!! I do not want this to happen to anyone else’s child.
