Each provides a range of professional development, technical assistance, research and other services for educators and organizations serving the field throughout Montgomery County and Southeastern Pennsylvania.
My Child has just started going to Prek at MELC. The teachers are very understanding, and my child has a great time there. The teachers care for the parents. My child was acting out this week and I received a few "not good" phone calls. As a Parent when your 4 year misbehaves, you feel really down.I just received a phone call. Dreading it, I picked it up. "Ms. Shakira had just called to let me know, my child was having a brilliant day". She had simply called to make my day. And she really did. I give Kudos to the teachers who think about the poor parents. Go Ms. Shakira.
I've walked in on many, many occasions where a lot of the counselor's were busy talking in a circle (not paying attention to the children), or on their celluar phones. It is very unprofessional and I am paying almost $500 every 3 weeks for the counselor's to do nothing when I am walking in. I rarely see anyone interacting with the children, (maybe 2 or 3 adults). & as the review above says, my child complains everyday about how all the camp does is color or play games in the cafeteria. I think there really needs to be something done about the huddling around talking, counselor's on the phone and the daily activities. Camp should be fun! I doubt I'll bring my child next year.
Please do better!
Sincerely, a concerned Mom.
My child is currently attending the summer camp at Wynnewood. I think some of their staff are very unprfessional. How can you keep an eye on children if you are reading a book or constanly on a computer?? Some of the staff are always huddled around the stage or the kitchen area. I have seen some of the site supervisors always on their cell phones, sitting down while the children are playing. There are not enough staff working. They do not watch the children at all what so ever. I thought camp was supposed to be fun. My child constanly complains about doing nothing there but group games in a hot basement. He complains about the same activities that are being done every single day. I pay alot of money for my child to have a good time, that's what camp is all about. I believe the kids ahould go on trips twice a week instead of one. we parents pay alot of money for our kids to go to a nice camp. My next meeting will be with the director. I am so disgusted and it will br my child's last session.
