Description: Marin Head Start is a child and family development program that provides low-income families and their children with comprehensive health services, education services and social services. Families are supported as they make positive changes in their lives that will benefit them now and in the future. Head Start has been successful because of parent involvement. Parents have an opportunity to play a vital role in the daily life of the program. Parents attend parent meetings, literacy classes and volunteer in the classrooms. They are elected to serve on the Policy Council and other important program committees. Marin Head Start is successful because it is built on partnership among parents, staff and the community.
